Edward Cheserek Returns to Camel City Invitational to Defend Mile WinPublished by
Men's Mile Pro Field Announced for Camel City InvitationalBy Adam Kopet Edward Cheserek won the mile at the 2019 Camel City Invitational. Now, according to meet organizers, he will return in 2020 to attempt a repeat win.
Cheserek will face Clayton Murphy, the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist and and 2019 Camel City Invitational winner at 800 meters. Also racing are Craig Nowak, Willy Fink and Vincent Ciattei. Cheserek stands third on the indoor mile all-time list, having run 3:49.44 on a banked track in 2018. The JDL Fast Track is flat. In a subsequent tweet, meet organizers hinted that Cheserek could double back in the 3,000 meters where he will face Paul Chelimo.
